Join us for our 4th annual Indy Trumpet Day event on Saturday June 28th at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church! The day will include masterclasses from local professional players and teachers, ensemble rehearsals, clinics, and a wide variety of trumpet related activities and performances. The day will conclude with an end-of-the-day performance for parents, family, and friends. Students and players of all ages and ability levels welcome. Lunch provided.

Jason Bergman, IU Trumpet Professor

American trumpeter Jason Bergman has performed throughout the United States, South America, Europe and China. In 2008, Bergman was named Associate Principal Trumpet of the Santiago Philharmonic in Chile and more recently has been Principal Trumpet of the Mobile Symphony Orchestra and Mobile Opera. He has also performed with the Utah Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Dallas Symphony, Dallas Opera and Fort Worth Symphony, as well as with the Dallas Winds on their Grammy-nominated album featuring music of John Williams. He has released three solo albums that are available on the MSR Classics label. He served as President of the International Trumpet Guild from 2021-2023. He has given presentations and performed at the Midwest Clinic, TMEA Annual Convention, the International Trumpet Guild, the College Music Society, and other similar conferences. In 2022, he joined the faculty of the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University as Associate Professor of Music in Trumpet after serving in that same position at the University of North Texas, Brigham Young University, and the University of Southern Mississippi. Bergman, who earned a MM and DMA at the University of Michigan and a BM at Brigham Young University, is a Yamaha Artist and exclusively plays Yamaha trumpets.
