Kent enjoys sharing his passion and knowledge of music and the trumpet with the next generation of students. He maintains a private trumpet studio of about 30 middle school and high school students in the Indianapolis area. In addition to his studio, he serves as an Adjunct Professor of Jazz Trumpet at both Butler University and the University of Indianapolis where he teaches applied lessons. Kent strives to provide his students with a solid foundation of fundamentals while exploring a combination of the music they are interested in and music that he thinks will help them grow their musicianship and skills. Kent holds Fall and Spring recitals for students for them to show what they have been working on (pictured to the right). For the past 3 years, Kent has hosted an annual "Indy Trumpet Day" event bringing students together from all over Indianapolis for a day of clinics, ensemble playing, learning, and community. To register for lessons, contact Kent directly or fill out the registration form below to get started. For clinics, masterclasses and other inquiries, feel free to send an email or direct message.
